Description

The Freescale MC56F800x family of digital signal controllers (DSCs) offer the functionality of a microcontroller with a flexible set of peripherals. The entry-level MC56F8006 and MCF56F8002 DSCs provide the most cost-effective solutions for mathematically intensive, power-sensitive, real-time control applications. Integrated peripheral set improves performance while reducing external component count and overall costs Includes sophisticated power management features Allows for straightforward generation of efficient, compact DSP and control code Cost-effective development tools simplify and accelerate time-to-market.

Single-cycle 16 × 16-bit parallel multiply-accumulate module (MAC)

Four 36-bit accumulators, including extension bits

Two 2x-16x PGAs (programmable gain amplifiers)

Three analog comparators

Two 12-bit (ADCs)

Six output pulse width modulation with programmable fault capability

Two 16-bit timers, one 16-bit periodic interval timer, programmable delay timer

Ultra-low-power operation (nine different power modes)
